Indigenous Summer Student, General Labourer (Rural Office - Anzac)
About The Position
The General Labourer Summer Student will be working eighty (84) hours bi-weekly, with the Rural Operations Branch of the Public Works Department. Reporting to the Anzac Municipal Office and under close supervision, the Summer Student will be part of team performing manual labour duties involved in the maintenance of a variety of municipal buildings and grounds in Fort McKay, Anzac, Janiver and Conklin. Tasks include, but are not limited to, cleaning and maintaining all assigned areas and facilities, operating a variety of small equipment and hand/power tools of a limited-skill nature, and performing other general labourer duties.

- Must be able to listen attentively and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time and in all weather conditions.

- General math, numeracy, and reading skills.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of one (1) year of post-secondary education is required.
- Candidates must be returning to full-time post-secondary studies for the Fall 2026 semester to be eligible for this position.
- Proof of full-time post-secondary enrollment for the Winter 2026 and Fall 2026 semesters.
- A copy of a High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- A copy of a valid Class Five (5) Driver’s Licence (non-GDL) and a Driver’s Abstract. Note: GDL will not be accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to speak Cree or Dene is an asset.
- Students currently enrolled in a Greenkeeping, Turf Management, Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, or related program may be given preference for this position.
