General Laborer

About The Position
As a General Laborer, you’ll support daily production and help ensure every product meets Techo-Bloc’s high quality standards. You’ll work alongside machine operators and assist with key processes such as inspecting finished product for height, shape, color, and consistency, performing quality checks and removing defective pieces, reworking/replacing blocks, packaging finished product, and assisting with production support tasks. You will also maintain a clean work area, follow all safety practices, and perform other assigned tasks to keep production moving.
Requirements
- Able to read basic instructions and communicate clearly
- Reliable and on time for scheduled shifts
- Comfortable working independently and with a team
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Strong attention to detail and good common sense
- Able to multitask and problem-solve on the floor
- Comfortable operating basic machinery/support equipment (training provided)
- Must frequently transport and move items up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds
- Must be able to closely inspect materials and products
- Must be able to identify color blends, variances, non-conforming color blends with up to three different colors on each product
- Regularly required to remain stationary or move throughout the workstations
- Includes the ability to ascend and descend steps and ladders
- Includes the ability to position self in tight spaces
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year manufacturing experience
Responsibilities
- Inspect finished product for height, shape, color, and consistency
- Perform quality checks and remove defective pieces as needed
- Rework/replace blocks to ensure every pallet is customer-ready
- Package finished product by adding packaging materials, top sheet, and labels
- Perform a final quality check before going to the yard
- Keep all products packaged neatly, safely, and securely
- Assist with production support tasks such as pallet repair, general maintenance support, and yard support
- Perform other assigned tasks to keep production moving
- Maintain a clean work area and support plant clean-up
- Follow all safety practices including PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures
