About The Position

PTC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of welded and cold-drawn mechanical steel tubing and tubular shapes, plated bar and tubing, and fabricated parts and precision components. Requirements

High School or equivalent years of experience
0-1 years’ experience working in a pipe and tube manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
Industrial experience preferred
Good organizational skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Basic math skills
Ability to pass math aptitude test
Good hand eye coordination, manual dexterity and attention to detail
Must be able to understand written and/or verbal instructions in English
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have safety as a priority
Ideal candidate will have excellent attendance, good work ethic, able to work overtime as needed
Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply & divide) and the ability to learn company computer system is a must
Must be familiar or willing to learn pipe sizes and grades, gauges, threads, etc.
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers
Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed
Stand, and/or walk, and/or use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended period of time
Must be able to safely lift and load 50lbs
Must be able to work outside in a variety of conditions
Candidates must be able to tolerate any climate
Must be flexible with shift and hours

Responsibilities

Work eight to twelve hours a day
Work on weekends
Work any shift
Assisting with movement of pipe
Application of thread compound and protectors
Coupling pre-buck on
Loading material onto line
Offloading material from line
Monitoring control panels and automated movement of pipe
Racking/in-racking of material
Mark pipe with status code or stencils approved by others
Clean area
Loading and unloading material from pallets and recording units of goods moved or unpacked
Stocking shelves
Practice and enforce safety policies
Shipping/Receiving
May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of departmental objectives and to develop one's skills
Other duties as assigned
