About The Position

EMI Services, a subsidiary of TechFlow, is hiring a General Laborer for their Utilities Shop at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. This is a non-seasonal, steady work position offering competitive wages and benefits. The General Laborer is responsible for manual labor tasks, supporting operations on worksites, collecting trash and debris, and handling power tools and materials. The ideal candidate has stamina, can lift heavy loads, stays on task, and is committed to safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one
Class B
Regular, dependable attendance
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
Apprenticeship or craft experience

Responsibilities

Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site
Use power tools and machinery (e.g. forklifts) when needed
Handle and transport materials (e.g. cement) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up goods)
Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby
Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. scaffolding)
