About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,500 employees. Established in 1908, RGI is recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. The company is seeking a General Laborer for its quarry located in Greer, South Carolina. The successful candidate for this role will be able to complete a variety of labor and operation tasks in the quarry and crushing plant. This individual will be responsible for plant maintenance and clean-up, and supporting various other production duties. A strong commitment to safety excellence is required.

Requirements

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, production, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and other duties as assigned.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand basic safety and work instructions.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Plant maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Experience with aggregate operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations.
  • Being trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times.
  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
  • Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines.
  • Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable.
  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management.
