About The Position

This is a part-time Janitorial position within the Manufacturing & Operations department, specifically in Plant Production. The role involves performing essential functions related to food safety, quality, and customer requirements, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and housekeeping guidelines. The position requires a commitment to safety, including OSHA requirements and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Teamwork, compliance with plant policies, and participation in meetings are expected. The role also involves utilizing Process Excellence (P.E.) and SPS tools to improve plant performance and complete special projects. Specific duties may include operating Clean in Place (CIP) systems, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, maintaining sanitation records, and performing final sanitation inspections. The position requires effective time and task management, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and inventory/stocking of sanitation supplies. Creating work orders for equipment repair and using TMP and QIP are also part of the responsibilities. Chemical safety training and understanding MSDS information are mandatory. The General Sanitation Laborer will be involved in cleaning and sanitation of various areas within the plant, including Belts, Blending, CIP, Clean and Grind, Cooker, Cooler Dock, COP Tank, Palletizer Dock, and Wrapper areas. A satisfactory attendance record (65 points or less), commendable teamwork, and overall job performance with no disciplinary action are required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma – G.E.D.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate power cleaning and sanitizing equipment
  • Willing to learn new process systems as they evolve
  • Must be physically capable of performing moderate to heavy lifting
  • Must be able to work in wet and humid conditions
  • English speaking/reading requirement in positions that require comprehension of the English language.
  • Must have an absenteeism rate of 65 points or less, commendable or better record in teamwork and overall job performance and have no disciplinary action

Responsibilities

  • Perform all process CP, CCP, QP, and CQP checks required for the position.
  • Follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement deviations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing practices and good housekeeping guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to properly follow safety guidelines, OSHA requirements and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines.

  • Must be able to identify and understand customer requirements.

  • Performs duties as required by plant leadership to ensure efficient & effective operation of production processes.
  • Operate Clean in Place (CIP) systems for specific equipment.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing of casting, processing and packaging equipment using hand tools, power sprayers, rinsing unites, and sanitation chemicals.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain sanitation records as needed.
  • Perform final sanitation inspection and sanitizing equipment prior to start up.
  • Effectively practice time and task management.
  • Manage multiple priorities.
  • Inventory, stocking and replenishment of sanitation supplies.
  • Special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Create work orders as needed to repair or replace damaged equipment.
  • Will be involved in using TMP and QIP.
