About The Position

Sabrosura Foods is seeking a General Laborer to ensure the quality of products while maintaining the safety of the food and employees. This role involves assisting supervisors and leads in daily operations to fulfill orders with speed and accuracy. The general laborer works in a team environment requiring strong communication skills and the ability to learn and apply skills to various product packaging machines and processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual.
  • Ability to read and understand documents and instructions (written, oral, or schedule form).
  • Must have a good attendance record.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to deal politely and professionally with plant inspectors and coworkers.
  • Ability to perform several tasks at once.
  • Ability to follow direction or instruction.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit/stand/bend/stretch, etc.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Performing production, sanitation, and other general duties as assigned in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
  • Observing and complying with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform essential functions safely.
  • Performing basic duties such as placing product on tables, placing product in containers, removing containers around production lines, ensuring containers have correct product information, weighing product, and placing them on packaging equipment.
  • Inspecting and removing defects or extraneous materials from product.
  • Reporting any mechanical or safety problems.
  • Adhering to all safety practices, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Keeping work area clean by sweeping, shoveling, dumping, or disposing of various materials.
  • Adhering to all plant hygiene standards to ensure product integrity.
  • Ensuring employee safety, food safety, legality, and quality within the scope of job responsibilities.
  • Performing duties dependent upon the operation being supported, which may not be performed continually or regularly.
