About The Position

The duty of the General Laborer is to work and assist in any operation on the log yard, stave storage yard. Load/Unload log trucks, Load/Unload Dry Kilns, Assist Log buyers, Pull Log Tags and feed Stave Mill, Assist in all Environmental Clean-up duties, Load/Unload By-Products, Assist Kiln Manager, assist in all aspects of handling inventory, Assist in Dry Kiln Operation. Position involves all aspects of “yard” duties.

Requirements

• Stand long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, pull, push, climb a few steps, eye-hand coordination, grade the wood for defects, use hands for grabbing and wrists for rotating.
• Using tools such as tape measures and crayons.
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including cold and hot/humid conditions.
• Must have a High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass a Drug screen & background check.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years’ experience with a wheel loader or heavy equipment.
• Manufacturing: 2 years
