About The Position
Professional Tree Care is hiring a Laborer to serve as a primary DRIVER for one of its tree care crews based out of Richmond CA. The initial work will focus on grounds-person basics (dragging brush, cleanup, and supporting a tree care team), learning how to drive large work trucks, how to tow/back-up a trailer and, eventually, move into an Apprenticeship that allows you to learn how to climb trees as a professional. This is a full-time/permanent role with benefits, expecting 40-42 hours per week, with overtime paid at $30.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Hardworking
- Physically fit and able to lift +/- 75 pounds or more
- Must have a current and clean California driver’s license (no points or recent tickets)
- Able to work outdoors for up to 8 hours per day in inclement weather year-round
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- SEVEN YEARS of work experience since high school in ANY type of job
- Live within a 40-minute commute of Richmond, CA
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Trades skills: carpentry, landscaping (plant maintenance & identification), hardscaping (building pathways, rock walls, etc.), general construction (building decks, sheds, etc.), Irrigation (installing manifold or drip lines), plumbing (installing PVC or other piping), etc.
- Experience working outdoors year-round
