About The Position

The objective of the General Labor position is to pick products using RF scanner. This role assists the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse, utilizing RF Scanners for product picking, QC, wrapping, staging, and labeling. The position requires a general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment, and involves safely loading and unloading trucks and trailers. Flexibility is needed for extended shifts and working with heights. Responsibilities include picking and moving stock, ensuring proper staging and loading of shipments, maintaining a clean warehouse, processing outbound freight, and overseeing stock storage. Accurate record-keeping for shipments and deliveries is essential, along with proper documentation completion and adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The role also involves handling customer products carefully, checking deliveries for damage, reporting incidents, and maintaining clear access to dock doors. Other tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • He/ she must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • 3-6 months of General Labor experience in a warehouse using a RF scanner required.
  • Good stable work record.
  • High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, bend over, squat, reach, push, pull, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Utilize RF Scanner, manual product picking QC, wrapping, staging and labeling.
  • Loads and unloads RJW truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Processing outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
  • Records and verifies the accuracy of the shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments / deliveries.
  • Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Able to follow all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
  • Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
  • Reports all accidents / incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
  • Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor.
