Requirements

  • No specific degree required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while lifting and carrying stacks of empty flats.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work indoors in a wet and humid environment and stand on hard surfaces.
  • Ability to travel stairs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to do a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety regulations and wear the proper PPE for the position.
  • Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Safety work rules at all times and reinforce Safety as a Core Value.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly.
  • Clean, dry, sanitize, and tag flats for reuse to minimize replacement costs.
  • Clean and sanitize plastic flats for easier bacteria control.
  • Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality to management.
  • Load stacks of dirty flats onto the track at the end of the flat washing machine.
  • Monitor automatic mechanical loading of individual flats into the flat washer, ensuring no jams.
  • Oversee the entire procedure for the flat washer, ensuring no jams from entry to exit.
  • Monitor and oversee the correct entry and exit of clean, dry flats from the spin dryer.
  • Remove stacks of clean, dry flats from a conveyor to a nearby skid.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area.
  • Correctly tag flats.
  • Clean machines when needed.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
