Cousino Restoration & Environment is currently hiring for a General Labor Technician to join our Perrysburg, OH team! Cousino Restoration & Environmental is a well-respected and top leading Emergency Response Restoration Company with over 40 years of service in fire, water cleanup, restoration services, mold mitigation, construction, and biohazard clean up. The General Labor employee plays an important role in supporting restoration projects involving water, fire, mold, biohazard, contents, storm, and other emergency property damage. This entry-level field position works alongside Technicians, Superintendents, and Project Managers to assist with demolition, cleaning, water extraction, contents handling, equipment setup, warehouse organization, and general job site operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a team environment, and is looking to build a long-term career in the restoration industry. General Labor employees receive on-the-job training and have opportunities to advance into a technician role as they develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass company-required background screening, drug testing, and motor vehicle record review, where applicable.
  • Ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and basic customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, restoration, demolition, cleaning, warehousing, moving, or a related field.
  • Experience working in residential or commercial customer environments.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Experience with water, fire, mold, contents, or reconstruction services is preferred but not required.
  • IICRC certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Technicians, Superintendents, and Project Managers with residential and commercial restoration projects involving water, fire, mold, biohazard, storm damage, contents, and other emergency services.
  • Perform general labor duties including demolition, debris removal, water extraction, structural drying, detailed cleaning, deodorization, mold remediation support, and restoration services while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Set up, monitor, relocate, and remove restoration equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, extraction equipment, and other specialized tools used in emergency restoration.
  • Assist with the removal of damaged building materials including drywall, insulation, flooring, carpet, trim, cabinetry, and other materials while protecting unaffected areas of customer properties.
  • Pack, inventory, clean, transport, store, and return customer belongings with care, ensuring all items are handled respectfully, properly documented, and protected throughout the restoration process.
  • Load, unload, organize, inspect, clean, and maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and warehouse inventory to ensure crews are prepared for daily operations and emergency response.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites by performing daily housekeeping, equipment cleanup, material staging, proper debris disposal, and final jobsite cleanup.
  • Complete basic job documentation including time entries, work logs, photographs, equipment records, and job notes while communicating project progress, safety concerns, and customer needs to supervisors.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely when authorized, following all company driving policies and ensuring vehicles, tools, and equipment remain clean, organized, and ready for use.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures by wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), recognizing potential hazards, and immediately reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or property damage.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining a professional appearance, treating customers and coworkers with respect, protecting customer property and privacy, and recognizing the sensitive nature of emergency restoration work.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, follow directions from supervisors, demonstrate initiative and accountability, and actively develop the skills necessary to advance into a Restoration Technician position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of emergency response operations and the successful completion of restoration projects.
