About The Position

The objective of the General Labor position is to receive product using RF scanner. This role assists the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse. The position involves utilizing an RF Scanner for manual product picking, quality control, wrapping, staging, and labeling. A general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment is necessary. The role includes loading and unloading RJW truck/trailers safely and efficiently, as well as processing outbound cross-dock freight. The General Laborer is responsible for overseeing the proper storing of stock in the warehouse and moving product into storage racks. They will record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries, ensuring all documentation is properly completed. Adherence to all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures is required. The employee will handle all customer products properly and orderly, and check deliveries for poor packing or damage, alerting the Warehouse Supervisor of any issues. The role also involves spotting trailers for efficient yard organization and maintaining clear access to dock doors. Other tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

• Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
• Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
• 3-6 months of General Labor experience in a warehouse using a RF scanner required.
• Good stable work record.
• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
• Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
• Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
• Frequently required to talk, hear, bend over, squat, reach, push, pull, stand and walk.
• Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
• Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
• Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
• Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
• Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
• Utilize RF Scanner, manual product picking QC, wrapping, staging and labeling.
• Loads and unloads RJW truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
• Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
• Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
• Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
• Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
• Processing outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
• Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
• Records and verifies the accuracy of the shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments / deliveries.
• Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
• Able to follow all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
• Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
• Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
• Reports all accidents / incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
• Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
• Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor.
