The General Maintenance Worker performs semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of grounds and landscapes. This includes operating electrically powered and gasoline-powered groundskeeping equipment and machines, and using small hand and power tools for planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscaping. The role also involves knowledge of minor sprinkler repair. The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining groundskeeping equipment and tools, and performing minor repairs as directed. Additional duties include changing light bulbs, painting walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment, making minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, delivering supplies, materials, and equipment, retrieving and documenting surplus property, and providing custodial services. A CDL is preferred but not required.
