About The Position

Performs general labor tasks involving strenuous physical work across all Colorado Northwestern Community College owned and leased facilities. Responsibilities include event setup, furniture moving, custodial services, trades assistance, and seasonal snow removal to maintain safe, clean, and functional campus environments.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles to transport supplies, attend meetings, etc.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check which will include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire.
  • Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position.
  • Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects (i.e. lifting trash, pushing cleaning equipment, moving furniture, etc.)
  • Constant or frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to follow verbal communication
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written directions on labels, machinery and in manuals, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Move furniture and other objects based on work requests and facility inspection findings
  • Perform minor, repetitive repairs and maintenance on equipment and buildings
  • Assist with event room setups for campus meetings, classes, and college functions
  • Perform general custodial tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities, including cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and vacuuming
  • Empty trash and recycle bins; pick up trash throughout campus
  • Maintain paper and hygiene products in restrooms
  • Respond to service calls and work orders; conduct required facility inspections
  • Provide general labor support to grounds, structural, electrical, and mechanical trades
  • Assist with painting, wall repair, and mounting fixtures
  • Reset breakers and replace light bulbs or fixtures
  • Assist with minor plumbing repairs and HVAC maintenance tasks
  • Perform seasonal snow and ice removal during winter weather conditions to ensure campus walkways, entrances, and parking areas remain safe and accessible
  • Work varied hours as needed, including before or after regular work schedules, to respond to winter weather conditions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support campus operations
