About The Position

This role involves assisting with various aspects of site preparation, grading, excavation, and utility installation in heavy grading and sitework operations. The position requires the ability to perform strenuous physical labor, operate tools and small equipment, and work effectively in a team environment on outdoor construction sites. Safety is a key priority, and adherence to all company policies and procedures is expected.

Requirements

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work on uneven terrain.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous construction, grading, excavation, or sitework experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and utility installation activities.
Perform hand digging, trenching, backfilling, and compaction work as directed.
Install and maintain erosion control measures.
Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and effectively.
Assist with pipe installation, drainage structures, and underground utility work.
Perform grade checking, stake placement, and site cleanup activities.
Direct traffic and equipment movement when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment issues to supervision immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
