About The Position
Aspire Bakeries is seeking a General Labor, Bakery- Case Packer for 2nd Shift to join their team at the Alsip, IL bakery. This role is responsible for efficiently assembling, packing, and sealing finished products while ensuring all packaging meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Case Packer plays a critical role in maintaining production flow and product integrity.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs
- Basic mechanical aptitude to operate packaging equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in food manufacturing or bakery production environments
- Familiarity with automated packaging equipment and conveyor systems
- Knowledge of food safety practices (GMPs, sanitation standards)
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Assemble and prepare cases for packaging, ensuring readiness for production needs
- Pack products, including clamshells and par-bake cookies, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Operate and monitor packaging equipment, including tape machines and case erectors, for efficient workflow
- Seal and label cases correctly to meet quality and compliance standards
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of packaging materials and communicate shortages proactively
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area in adherence to sanitation standards
- Follow food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines to maintain product integrity
