About The Position

Sigma Defense is seeking a General IT Info Systems Tech II to join our team in San Diego, CA. This role involves supporting and maintaining various IT systems, including virtualization environments, network infrastructure, and user accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience with helpdesk support, remote tools, and security measures, and will contribute to system maintenance, documentation, and project support. The position requires a U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience with Office, Remote Support tools, and Entra.
  • Helpdesk/Service desk experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Top Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Some college coursework completed from an accredited college or university in a Technology Related field of study.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of our VMware virtualization environment.
  • Assist in managing switches, routers, and networking devices to ensure a stable network infrastructure.
  • Contribute to rack-and-stack operations for new equipment installations as needed.
  • Aid in the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications.
  • Respond to user inquiries, assist in troubleshooting, and provide timely solutions to maintain user satisfaction.
  • Assist in implementing security measures to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks.
  • Contribute to regular system updates, security patches, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 support, providing assistance in resolving technical issues and incidents.
  • Contribute to mentoring junior team members to foster knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and taking corrective actions.
  • Contribute to routine maintenance tasks for optimized system performance.
  • Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, network topology, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Contribute to generating reports on system performance and incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, including system upgrades, infrastructure expansions, and technology migrations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance skillsets and contribute to the team's effectiveness.
