About The Position

The General Helper position is a full-time hourly role requiring the ability to work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts to meet customer demands. Previous manufacturing experience is required. The role involves working around conveyors, crosswalks, and potentially elevated platforms. Responsibilities include transporting materials such as ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and oversized cutting dies. Tasks must be performed in a timely manner, adhering to safety procedures and ensuring product quality. The helper will also be responsible for completing required paperwork for inventory and downtime tracking, as well as computer data entry related to production metrics. This position may involve various roles, including working at the Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator. Additional duties include counting and stacking finished product, reading factory orders, accurately reading gauges and test equipment, utilizing basic shop math, inspecting, completing quality and administrative documents, and following directions. Clean-up functions are also part of the role, such as blowing down machines, wiping shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping, and picking up and shredding scrap.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts to meet customer demands.
  • Work around conveyors, crosswalks, and in some cases from elevated platforms.
  • Transporting of product and materials including ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and over-sized cutting dies.
  • Perform tasks in a timely fashion, following all safety procedures, and ensuring quality product arrives at the next operation.
  • Completion of required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc., as well as computer data entry relating to production metrics.
  • Fill a variety of roles including, but not limited to, working at the Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator.
  • Counting and stacking finished product.
  • Reading factory orders.
  • Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment.
  • Utilizing basic shop math, inspecting.
  • Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions.
  • Assigned to clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.
