About The Position

Ampacet Corporation is hiring a General Helper to assist and relieve other workers by performing tasks assigned by the shift supervisor. The role supports machine operators and production activities, including preparing equipment and packaging lines for subsequent jobs, handling materials and supplies, drawing product samples, weighing raw materials, repacking products, and keeping accurate production records. The helper reports work status, safety concerns, and items requiring repair or adjustment to the appropriate personnel, and maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area. The position is for the 2nd shift. Employees must follow safety rules and work procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and be prepared for occasional flexible hours or overtime when needed. The work involves manufacturing equipment and may require lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds, moving throughout the job site, and working in varying or potentially extreme weather conditions or temperatures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills and ability to understand basic math concepts, including measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment as required.
Reliable and available for occasional flexible work hours or overtime when needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate them to others.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must properly wear and use required personal protective equipment in designated areas.
Must successfully pass a company-administered physical examination.
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
Physical ability to twist, bend, stoop, stand, walk, step, and climb ladders or stairs to navigate the job site.
Ability to work in environments with varying and potentially extreme weather conditions or temperatures.

Responsibilities

Assist machine operators with assigned jobs.
Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are available and serviceable.
Operate a forklift properly.
Assist with setup of the next job after the current product is completed, including cleaning production equipment or packaging lines.
Keep the shift supervisor informed about work status and safety, and report items requiring repair or adjustment.
Communicate with management and fellow employees.
Recognize potential problems and report them to the operator in charge.
Relieve operators for breaks and lunch periods.
Determine and secure supplies needed for assigned tasks.
Observe safety rules and remain alert to potential hazards.
Keep up to date on and follow work rules, policies, and procedures.
Draw samples of finished products.
Weigh raw materials.
Repack products as needed.
Maintain accurate records of packaged finished products and deliver them to the shift supervisor at the end of each job or shift.
Assist with cleanup and return unused raw materials, labeled and weighed, to proper storage.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
