About The Position

The General Helper position involves working in a manufacturing environment, often around conveyors, crosswalks, and elevated platforms. Responsibilities include transporting materials such as ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and cutting dies. Tasks must be performed safely, efficiently, and with a focus on quality. The role also requires completing paperwork for inventory and downtime tracking, as well as data entry for production metrics. General Helpers may be assigned to various roles including Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator. Additional duties include cleaning and maintenance of machinery and work areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to work any shift - some 12 hours shifts required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Counting and stacking finished product.
  • Reading factory orders.
  • Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment.
  • Utilizing basic shop math.
  • Inspecting.
  • Accurately completing quality and administrative documents.
  • Following directions.

Responsibilities

  • Work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts.
  • Work around conveyors, crosswalks, and elevated platforms.
  • Transport product and materials including ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and over-sized cutting dies.
  • Perform tasks in a timely fashion, following all safety procedures, and ensuring quality product.
  • Complete required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc.
  • Perform computer data entry relating to production metrics.
  • Fill a variety of roles including, but not limited to, working at the Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator.
  • Count and stack finished product.
  • Read factory orders.
  • Accurately read gauges and other test equipment.
  • Utilize basic shop math.
  • Inspect product.
  • Accurately complete quality and administrative documents.
  • Follow directions.
  • Perform clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, and picking up and shredding scrap.
