About The Position

The General Foreman assists Managers and Superintendents with the coordination and supervision of assigned construction activities. This role involves managing multiple crews with blended skill sets, often on stand-alone projects, and maintaining project records. The General Foreman is responsible for directing personnel to ensure tasks are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship. This includes maintaining the construction schedule, coordinating material and equipment deliveries, managing time sheets, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting job site safety and maintaining an organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction activities coordination and supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple crews with blended skill sets.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and updating project records (RFI’s, ITP’s, as-builts).
  • Experience in developing or assisting with change orders.
  • Familiarity with coordinating with finance departments for invoicing.
  • Skill in directing personnel to ensure safe, on-schedule, within-budget, and quality project completion.
  • Ability to maintain construction schedules and identify/solve problems.
  • Experience coordinating material and equipment deliveries.
  • Proficiency in maintaining time sheets and logging man hours.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers, contractors, and employees.
  • Commitment to promoting job site safety and rectifying hazards.
  • Ability to maintain an organized job site and construction office.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Managers and Superintendents with the coordination and supervision of assigned construction activities.
  • Manage multiple crews with blended skill sets, often on stand-alone projects.
  • Maintain and update project records including RFI’s, ITP’s and as-builts.
  • Develop or assist with the development of change orders.
  • Coordinates with finance department to ensure accuracy on invoicing for assigned projects.
  • Directs assigned personnel to achieve completion of the project tasks safely, on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule for assigned tasks, identifies problems in advance and recommends solutions.
  • Coordinates material and equipment deliveries as necessary throughout the progress of the project for assigned work.
  • Maintain time sheets and logs man hours for their assigned crews.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, and other employees.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office.
  • Other related duties as assigned or needed.
