About The Position

This position at JBS USA is for a General Foreman in the 1st Cut department at the Ottumwa location. The role requires extensive knowledge of products and production processes, strong communication skills, and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a processing plant industry is preferred. The General Foreman will oversee the entire cut floor production, direct supervisors on production volume, quality, cost, and scheduling, and train and develop supervisors. Responsibilities also include planning work and personnel assignments, monitoring equipment maintenance and sanitation, and maintaining good employee relations in accordance with the labor contract. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of external candidates.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of products.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industry preferred.
Good attendance record (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates).

Responsibilities

Oversee entire cut floor production.
Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop team work to attain department objectives.
Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.
Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.
Other duties as assigned.
