About The Position

This role actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values, representing the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. The General Foreman will supervise and coordinate the inventory of power tools, equipment, and hoses for the Structural crew. This position involves analyzing complex structural ironwork projects, recommending alternative strategies, and reviewing project status reports to ensure timely completion. A strong understanding of applicable safety and code standards specific to the structural ironwork trade, including OSHA standards, is essential. The role requires maintaining safety accountability procedures, assuring high-quality work, and reviewing individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance. Attending weekly crew safety meetings to ensure employee engagement and promoting a strong safety culture within supervised crews are key responsibilities. The General Foreman must identify and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize safety hazards. All other job-related duties as requested by supervision will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (5) years or more as a Structural Supervisor in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Knowledge of structural iron repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance methods, practices, and procedures
  • Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
  • Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
  • Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, S.T.A.R.T. Class and Client / Site specific training.
  • To obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program.
  • Subject to random drug screenings.
  • Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Coordinate the inventory of power tools, equipment and hoses for Structural crew
  • Analyze complex structural ironwork projects and recommending alternative strategies to complete the same project
  • Reviewing project status reports prepared by the general foreman and reallocating resources to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Maintain Safety Accountability Procedures.
  • Assure that a high quality of work is being maintained.
  • Reviewing individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attending weekly crew safety meeting to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation
  • Have good supervisor skills for managing crews.
  • Promote a strong Safety culture within the crews supervised.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
