About The Position

Sturgeon Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical General Foreman to lead crews on commercial and/or industrial projects. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to read blueprints, coordinate schedules, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. (Sturgeon Electric) – a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc. – has provided complex, large-scale electrical construction services for our clients throughout the western United States. As a full-service electrical provider, we offer industry leading electrical transmission, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy services. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both powerline construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider.

Sturgeon Electric’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.

Requirements

• Previous General foreman or crew leadership experience required
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and NEC code
• Ability to manage manpower and meet deadlines
• Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Experience running commercial electrical jobs as a General Foreman is preferred. Extensive field experience will also be considered.
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead electrical crews on job sites
• Plan, schedule, and assign daily work activities
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with NEC and local electrical codes
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors
• Order materials and manage job site inventory
• Maintain safety standards and conduct toolbox talks
• Train and mentor apprentices and journeymen

• Wage depends on experience and certifications, and benefits are detailed within the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
• Our General Foreman wages are set by the collective bargaining agreement with Local 68 and is $59.22.
• Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
