About The Position

As a Construction Crew Supervisor, otherwise known as a General Foreman, you will provide strategic leadership and operational direction to ensure project excellence across the Newport News, Chesapeake, Hampton, and Yorktown areas. This role will support our continued expansion in the region and growing partnership with our customer, Virginia Natural Gas. You will hold primary accountability for the safety, quality, and productivity of assigned projects while championing our Culture of Personal Responsibility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in relevant construction (as a fitter, operator, lineman, finisher, and/or welder) with no less than three years as a Foreman
  • Commercial Driver’s License A – currently holding or able to obtain within 6 months
  • Certified OSHA Competent Person; OSHA 10, OSHA 30 completion
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and desire to keep crew safe
  • Fluent in English
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute project work across assigned areas with Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Lead and oversee multiple crews to consistently achieve safety, quality, productivity, and schedule expectations.
  • Drive daily field operations by coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and project priorities.
  • Serve as the primary field leader for assigned crews, reinforcing accountability and our Culture of Personal Responsibility.
  • Monitor project progress and provide clear, timely updates on production, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Maintain accurate crew, production, and project documentation for reporting and operational tracking.
  • Identify opportunities to improve field processes, productivity, and overall project execution.
  • Recruit, interview, and support the hiring of qualified crew members as operational needs grow.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on proper procedures, specifications, safety expectations, and performance standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues, escalating risks or barriers to leadership when necessary.
  • Support workforce planning and crew development as operations expand throughout the region.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support project and operational success.
