General Field Technician/Mechanic (North Texas Area) - Austin Equipment Yard

Our Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for a General Field Technician/Mechanic for heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. Our technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of concrete and/or asphalt paving equipment.
Requirements
- 1+ years of service and repair experience with concrete and/or asphalt paving equipment
- Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance skills
- Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting abilities
- Mechanical aptitude with required knowledge of: Diesel engines Transmissions Electrical systems Hydraulic systems
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety
- Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights and weekends

Nice To Haves
- Prefer experience any of the following: Roadtec, Wirtgen, Vogele, Weiler and other various brands of asphalt paving equipment
- Gomaco, Miller Formless, Wirtgen, Guntert & Zimmerman, and other various brands of concrete paving equipment
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues by using diagnostic equipment or by performing hands-on tests
- Repairing or replacing broken parts, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty, compliance, and tracking purposes
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
