Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
  • 4-7 years of professional engineering experience
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary to perform very complex or unique assignments for a specific
  • Minimum of two related career experiences (i.e., changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department)
  • Engineer in Training OR 50% complete (by hours) with advanced technical degree, M.B.A. or Project Management Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree (1) or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification
  • Possess Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification and/or Professional Engineer license
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.
  • Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills.
  • A working knowledge of analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS\E, Python, PLS-CAD, Pole Foreman, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Electric Distribution SCADA and Substation Automation Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supports engineering efforts across Exelon's utility infrastructure, including electric or gas distribution, transmission, substations, and related systems.
  • Develops engineering solutions, manages technical deliverables, and ensures compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Leads electric, gas, and/or communications system performance evaluations and outage analysis.
  • Drives initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Manages budgeting and cost estimation for engineering projects.
  • Coordinates across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Oversees field inspections and resolves technical issues.
  • May be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
  • Performs engineering assignments of moderate complexity, exercising independent judgment under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Collects and analyzes technical data, interprets results, draws conclusions, and presents recommendations to management.
  • Leads small engineering projects or tasks, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure technical requirements and standards are met.
  • Analyzes and interprets results of power flows, performs engineering tests, and resolves ambiguous findings.
  • Provides technical support and consultation to engineering and operating groups, assisting in the design, installation, and maintenance of systems and equipment.
  • Reviews and validates studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices.
  • Participates in the evaluation and improvement of technical systems and processes, contributing to project planning and implementation.
  • May assign and review work as needed.
  • Influences project decisions having a moderate impact on the company.
  • May lead employees or contractors in the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to be placed On System.
  • Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $92,000.00/Yr. – $126,500.00/Yr.
