General Dentist - Full Time/Part Time
About The Position
Aizer Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center providing relationship-based, whole-person care. The General Dentist will join a growing dental department in a state-of-the-art facility with supportive, experienced, and collaborative staff. The position involves assessing patients, diagnosing dental conditions, planning and providing treatment, supervising dental assistants, and contributing to provider collaboration and learning. Full-time and part-time hours are available. Monday through Thursday shifts are flexible 8, 10, or 11 hours. Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dentist works one Sunday per month, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; a weekday off is provided during a week when working Sunday.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited dental school.
- Hold a current New York State license.
- Be comfortable treating pediatric and adult patients.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records software.
- Experience with Dexis digital radiographs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient health assessments, including recording height, weight, blood pressure, medical problems, allergies, reactions, and prescribed medications.
- Diagnose intraoral and extra-oral conditions, including caries, endodontic pathology, periodontal conditions, prosthetic needs, and soft tissue abnormalities.
- Develop treatment plans tailored to patients’ dental needs.
- Provide routine dental treatments, including amalgam restorations, aesthetic composite restorations, routine root canal therapy, routine extractions, prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and root planing, and periodontal care.
- Directly supervise assigned or designated dental assistants.
- Provide professional consultation to other staff dentists as needed.
- Attend dental provider meetings and participate in case study discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dental Director or Practice Manager.
