About The Position

Open Door Community Health Centers provides compassionate, whole-person care across California's North Coast through its Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services. This role is for a General Dentist to join the integrated care team at the Burre Dental Center in Eureka, California. The position offers an outpatient practice with excellent work-life balance, flexible scheduling, no hospital call, and opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and leadership. The center utilizes state-of-the-art technology and modern equipment to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered dental care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
• Current, unrestricted California dental license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Valid California driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program.
• Two to five years of clinical experience, particularly in community health, public health, rural practice, or caring for underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Practice the full scope of general dentistry for all ages.
• Develop meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
• Provide preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and urgent dental care for individuals with diverse and often complex oral health needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to address social, behavioral, and medical factors impacting oral health.
• Improve access to quality dental care in the community.
