About The Position

Honeywell is seeking a General Counsel, Cyber Security & Government Contracts to lead the cybersecurity and government contracts legal practice for the Honeywell Technologies business. This role serves as the enterprise's primary legal advisor for cybersecurity risk, product security, government contracts, incident response, and security regulatory compliance. The position provides strategic counsel across various business segments and corporate functions, balancing strategic influence with operational responsibilities. This includes shaping enterprise policy, managing daily legal risks, and ensuring compliance to prevent regulatory enforcement, loss of customer trust, or operational disruptions. The General Counsel will collaborate with the CISO, CTO, engineering, IT, product security, and commercial teams to integrate legal and compliance aspects into product development, incident response, and business operations. Additionally, the role will advise on U.S. government contract regulations (FAR/DFARS/DPAS/domestic sourcing requirements), contract negotiations, risk management, and compliance. This executive-level position within the Law Department significantly influences legal and business strategy and oversees a Government Contracts Analyst. The role reports directly to the VP & GC Data Privacy, with a matrix report to the VP & GC Regulatory and Legal Transformation, and will be based in Charlotte, NC, operating on a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state.
  • Significant experience in cybersecurity law, including product security, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Extensive experience with U.S. government contracts, including FAR/DFARS/DPAS/domestic sourcing requirements.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and risk management.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal counsel at an executive level.
  • Experience managing legal risk and shaping enterprise policy.
