About The Position

The Maintenance position is responsible for performing all maintenance and repairs needed on the property. This includes but is not limited to air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, pool operations, and general building upkeep. The role involves troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, and electrical components. A key aspect is performing preventative maintenance in a timely manner and documenting these actions. Daily property walk-throughs are required to identify and address any immediate maintenance needs. The position also entails maintaining maintenance areas and equipment, keeping them clean, organized, and stocked with inventory. Maintaining preventative maintenance records and logs using a computer management system is essential. The role requires providing periodic maintenance inventory updates to management and maintaining daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities. Specific tasks include fixing minor plumbing issues, maintaining pool operations in compliance with health regulations, and adhering to safety and security policies. This includes reporting incidents, completing safety training, maintaining proficiency in emergency systems, and properly storing flammable materials. The role also involves handling hazardous materials according to program procedures and ensuring safe passageways during inclement weather. Guest services are a crucial part of the role, requiring professional and timely responses to guest needs, addressing complaints, and maintaining a professional demeanor. All maintenance or repair assignments must be completed in a timely, safe, and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency and a technical background preferred.
  • At least 2 years of related work or hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Must have prior experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job including sitting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching and walking for up to 90% of the workday and lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs.
  • Perform engineering-related duties and mid-level troubleshooting of all hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
  • Certified pool operator and ServSafe certification.
  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
  • Must have excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • An independent thinker, able to make decisions based upon information gathered from appropriate resources.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, proper insurance coverage, and a clean driving record for business related travel.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, replace electrical switched and outlets, and program TV’s.
  • Install, maintain, and repair items when a situation arises.
  • Perform preventative maintenance in a timely manner and document in the appropriate system.
  • Perform daily property walk-through inspections to ensure there are no areas requiring immediate attention.
  • Maintain the building and property by keeping maintenance areas and equipment clean, well-organized, and properly stocked inventory.
  • Maintain all preventative maintenance records and logs using a computer management system or required systems.
  • Provide periodic maintenance inventory updates to management when requested or required.
  • Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work.
  • Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots and faucets using appropriate techniques.
  • Maintain pool operations in compliance with county health department regulations.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Report all guest and associate incidents and accidents to management immediately.
  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks, including Certified Pool Operator Training.
  • Maintain proficiency in Fire Alarm/Safety and emergency power systems to be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the Fire and Emergency Rescue Teams.
  • Ensure that all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA approved containment devices.
  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations in order to preserve the building and its systems during the emergency and act as quickly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
  • Participate in developmental problem solving teams.
  • Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Required to wear proper non-slip shoes that comply with our uniform standards.
  • Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemical, fertilizers, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc. including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Ensure safe passageways in the event of inclement weather.
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  • Address guests’ service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner, providing special assistance to individuals with disabilities.
  • Continually demonstrate a professional demeanor toward each and every guest.
  • Respond to all guest complaints promptly and, if cannot remedy the situation, let the proper people know so they can follow up and try to satisfy the guest.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards by working in a neat, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Complete all maintenance or repair assignments in a timely, safe and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management (e.g. tasking custodial duties).

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $17.50 - $18.50 Hourly
