About The Position

To perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings/facilities, keeping them in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition, and to perform other tasks related to the area of assignment. The weekly work schedule is Sunday 6 AM to 11 AM, Monday 3 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday OFF, Wednesday 4 PM to 8 PM, Thursday 3 PM to 8 PM, Friday OFF, and Saturday 6 AM to 11 AM.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of janitorial work operations.
Basic knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work.
Basic knowledge of safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Sufficient communication skills to interact with co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Maintain physical condition appropriate for assigned duties, including walking, standing, sitting for extended periods, operating equipment, lifting/carrying 1-30 lbs, pushing/pulling 5-35 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders, bending/twisting/balancing, kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching/handling/grasping/fingering, and overhead reaching.
Adequate sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination for cleaning tasks and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform high dusting using a treated high duster, cleaning surfaces above shoulder height.
Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height, remove fingerprints and smudges, and spot clean windows.
Clean bathrooms using germicidal solution, including sinks, toilets, and dispensers.
Empty trash cans, replacing liners as needed.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, ensuring all areas are covered.
Perform grounds care, including emptying trash, cleaning sidewalks and flower beds, spot cleaning spills, removing gum, wiping benches and vending machines, and policing the parking lot.
Clean and maintain public common areas, including dusting hallways, cleaning glass, maintaining planters, and high dusting window areas.
Clean, remove trash, and sanitize tables in the food court, and clean trays.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution.
Mentally review cleaning steps and visually check furniture placement after completing a room.
Perform daily cleaning of halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, furniture, and wall spotting.
Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, answering questions or referring them to someone who can.
Report any broken or out-of-order items to the supervisor.
Work quietly and maintain a clean personal appearance.
Report to the supervisor if work assignments are not completed by the end of the shift.
Be courteous at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include floor care, carpet extraction, and buffing floors.
