About The Position

The General Civil Craftsman/Workers are responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining various civil structures such as buildings, and other infrastructure facilities. The role involves working with a range of materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials. The Civil Craftsman must have knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and safety regulations.

Requirements

Must have 2+ years working as a carpenter on an industrial construction project
Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties
Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction
Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification
Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties
Must pass drug test and background check
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Norrell Construction is required.

Responsibilities

Constructing, repairing and maintaining various civil structures such as buildings, and other infrastructure facilities.
Working with a range of materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials.
Constructing, dismantling, and repairing wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms.
Reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
Identifying all tools required for tasks.
Identifying safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Measuring, marking, and cutting required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
Constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling pre-constructed concrete forms.
Building and constructing wooden forms.
Working on miscellaneous construction projects such as but not limited to building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
Assisting other crafts and performing additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
Talking and hearing to communicate.
