About The Position

Zolman Tire, Inc. is seeking qualified Automotive General Repair and Service Technicians for their locations in South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, IN and Niles, MI. The company has been serving the automotive, light truck, and commercial repair, tire, and wheel needs of customers since 1978 and has expanded to multiple retail and commercial fleet locations. They are looking for individuals who value safety and teamwork, are enthusiastic about the commercial tire and repair industry, reliable, and possess a positive attitude. The role involves performing tire services, basic maintenance, and repairs, and educating customers on diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs (per TIA guidelines)
  • Inspect tread depth, air pressure, and carcass for defects, for every tire that comes through, and recommend corrective action
  • Inspect vehicles using inspection forms and report potential repairs to supervisor
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair, including oil changes, chassis lubrication, filter and fluid inspection and replacement, and other light mechanical items and repairs
  • Raise and lower vehicles safely, with hydraulic or floor jacks
  • Safely operate all shop machinery, including but not limited to: rim clamp machine, balancer, floor jacks or lifts, air powered tools, torque wrench and/or torque sticks, and parts washer
  • Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks
  • Work closely with management and service advisors to educate customers on diagnoses and provide excellent service
  • Help to load/unload delivery trucks
  • Reset TPMS when needed
  • Set up tire racks, signs and other displays each morning; store them neatly at the end of the day
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
