About The Position

Hertrich GMC Buick of Salisbury is hiring a General Service Technician / Entry-Level Automotive Mechanic for its new, state-of-the-art facility in Salisbury, Maryland. The role is suited to a motivated early-career technician with automotive maintenance or repair experience who wants to build technical skills and progress toward becoming a certified automotive technician. Paid training, technician certifications, modern equipment, and career advancement opportunities are offered.

The shop is air-conditioned and equipped with new equipment, heavy-duty truck lifts, computers at each technician bay, and a fully stocked parts department. The position has a five-day workweek and no Sundays. Applicants with training from another manufacturer are invited to discuss converting that training.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of automotive maintenance or repair experience.
• Basic automotive tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to understand technical instructions.
• Dependable, motivated team player.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, fluid services, and basic maintenance.
• Complete multi-point inspections (MPIs).
• Assist with brake and tire services.
• Identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on training.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
