About The Position

Hertrich GMC Buick of Salisbury is hiring a General Service Technician / Entry-Level Automotive Mechanic with at least one year of automotive maintenance or repair experience. The role offers paid hands-on training, modern equipment, and opportunities to develop technical skills and advance toward becoming a certified automotive technician. The position is based at the dealership’s new facility in Salisbury, Maryland, which includes an air-conditioned shop, new equipment, heavy-duty truck lifts, computers at technician bays, and a stocked parts department. The schedule is a five-day workweek with no Sundays.

Requirements

• At least one year of automotive maintenance or repair experience.
• Basic automotive tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to understand technical instructions.
• Dependable, motivated team player.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, fluid services, and basic maintenance.
• Complete multi-point inspections (MPIs).
• Assist with brake and tire services.
• Identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on training.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
