About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting with client bottle orders and to assist with the receiving and organizing of the returned samples for login. The role is on-site and casual. Specific Responsibilities include general duties to support lab operations, which can involve client communication, sample login, and shipping of samples and bottles. The role also involves organizing workload to client supply requests, maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with ALS Safety Manual and policies, and working in a team environment. While the position is for Monday to Friday day shift coverage, extended, evening, or weekend shifts may be required as needed to serve customers. Duties also include preparing samples for shipment and completing waybills, delivering shipments to the airport and/or supplies to client offices, and data entry into computer software (LIMS system) for shipping orders. The role participates in a weekly rotation of janitorial duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage, and cleaning the bathroom. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

  • Good English communication skills (auditory, verbal, writing, and reading)
  • Basic user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident with computers
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with attention to detail and proven ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required
  • Commitment to excellence and a client-focused attitude
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid provincial Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driving record
  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country of application, or hold/be able to obtain a valid working visa

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working in a warehouse or fast-paced environment
  • Some customer service experience
  • Knowledge from high school science courses and/or basic lab safety
