About The Position

This full-time General Assembly position at Tyson Foods’ Amherst, Ohio facility performs repetitive assembly and packaging tasks on a high-speed line in a frozen food facility. The role involves placing frozen and refrigerated food components on a moving assembly line, packing finished products for shipment, and monitoring products and equipment for defects or contamination. Team members must follow safety, food-safety, and efficiency guidelines. First-shift start times vary between 6:00 a.m. and 6:55 a.m., and end times vary between 2:25 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Overtime is required as needed. Starting pay is $18.95 per hour. The facility produces sandwiches and operates five or more days a week. Work takes place in a cold environment, approximately 30–40°F. The position requires standing and walking for 8–10 hours per day, along with repetitive motions and other physical activity. Requirements

Responsibilities

Monitor products and equipment for defects or contamination.
Place frozen and refrigerated food components on a moving assembly line.
Pack assembled products into cartons or containers for shipment.
Rotate through workstations as assigned.
Follow safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment, performing stretches, rotating positions, and maintaining the designated pace.
Pass safety and food-safety tests.
Follow food-safety requirements, including handwashing, wearing required protective clothing, and following Good Manufacturing Practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
