Requirements

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within established accounting guidelines.
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts and results to non-accounting partners.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies or errors in general ledger accounts.
  • Knowledge of accounting policies governing recurring transactions.
  • Knowledge of core general accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and period-end close.
  • Skill in independently preparing routine account reconciliations.
  • Skill in preparing standard accounting schedules and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Handles moderately complex tasks related to tracking and recording financial activities, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete within the system.
  • Reviews differences between expected and actual results, identifies key reasons for those differences, and shares meaningful observations.
  • Creates and reviews key financial reports, such as summaries of income, assets, and cash movement, and explains what the numbers mean.
  • Carefully checks financial records to ensure they match actual transactions, and looks into any inconsistencies to make sure everything lines up.
  • Prepares required paperwork, answers questions from reviewers or inspectors, and ensures all work follows company rules, professional standards, and legal requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Independently performs and manages bank reconciliations, identifies and implements automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy, and executes escheatment processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
