The General Accountant position involves a range of financial tasks including checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. This role is responsible for organizing, securing, and maintaining all files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures. Key duties include recording, storing, accessing, and analyzing computerized financial information, as well as classifying, coding, and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, and computers. The position also entails preparing, maintaining, auditing, and distributing statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, completing period-end closing procedures and reports, and preparing, reviewing, reconciling, and issuing bills, invoices, and account statements. Additionally, the General Accountant will follow up on and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices, prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash, document and manage cash variances, and prepare, maintain, and administer all cashier banks and contracts. The role also requires adherence to company policies, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets, and ensuring the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Communication skills are important, including speaking clearly and professionally, preparing accurate written documents, and using appropriate telephone etiquette. Physical requirements include the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to employee concerns are also essential. The position may involve other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
