About The Position

The General Accountant is responsible for preparation for all aspects of the cash and revenue process, reconciliation of the general ledger accounts, assists in the day-to-day operation of the accounting department. As the General Accountant, you will assist the entire finance team with the preparation and monitoring of: daily financial reports, daily revenue audits and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in accounting experience in multi entity environments
  • Working towards a professional designation
  • Excellent communication skills and proven superior customer service experience
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Ensure accurate reporting and demonstrate job ownership for all items completed
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to obtain a valid IGCO registration
  • Ability to complete all BCLC required trainings
  • Serving it Right Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be an asset
  • Experience in the Casino or Restaurant industries would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily input of revenue records in the accounting system
  • Prepare for submission all Government and BCLC reports
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals
  • Review AP batches
  • Maintain cash positions and determine daily funding requirements across all bank accounts
  • Monitor and code monthly credit card summary statements
  • Complete bank and credit card statement reconciliation
  • Assist in the financial operations and the monthly accounts closing process in a precise and timely manner
  • Work closely with the Finance team to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including all necessary reconciliations, account analysis, schedules and ad hoc reports
  • Assist in the preparation of the internal financial analysis, management accounts and ad hoc analysis
  • Assist with all external audit requirements
  • Assist with inventory audit and reconciliation
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations
  • Follow all aspects of month end close activities to meet deadlines
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of a budgetary system, and forecasts as directed
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statement notes
  • Responsible for providing professional and exceptional customer service in accordance with established company standards
  • Other duties as assigned
