About The Position

The BRIDGE seeks a compassionate, inspiring part-time GED Instructor to help young adults ages 18–30 earn their GED and pursue educational and career goals. The instructor creates an engaging learning environment, connects with students from diverse backgrounds, and serves as both an educator and mentor. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for 25 hours per week.

Requirements

• Knowledge of GED curriculum and adult education best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage diverse learners.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience using educational technology.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide GED instruction in mathematics, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
• Develop lesson plans and learning activities aligned with GED standards.
• Assess student skill levels and monitor academic progress.
• Provide individualized tutoring, coaching, and academic support.
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, and other required documentation.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with program staff to support student success and retention.
• Prepare students for GED testing and future education or employment opportunities.
