About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Geared Turbofan (GTF) Production Engineer I to join their team. This role involves evaluating technical data, prioritizing production issues with internal suppliers, managing internal communication, and identifying/managing risk. The engineer will also conduct investigations, develop recommendations for corrective actions, promote a quality culture, evaluate standard work for improvements, and seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency. Additionally, the role includes assisting in training mechanics and inspectors, supporting EH&S and continuous improvement programs, and revising workscope as necessary. This is an onsite position requiring U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace of Mechanical Engineering
  • Completed internship or co‑op in the aerospace industry
  • Experience supporting operations or engineering activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while supporting organizational goals
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and manage daily tasks with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions and meet critical deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical data in support of Geared Turbofan (GTF) Engineering and Operations
  • Prioritize production issues with internal suppliers (CTS & ASE) to align with gated deliveries
  • Manage internal communication providing timely updates
  • Identifies and manages risk utilizing CORE tools to propose risk management solutions
  • Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities
  • Promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules
  • Evaluate current standard work in place and provide areas of improvement
  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency using new materials, processes or technology
  • Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues
  • Demonstrate dedication to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by aligning with all policies and procedures, finishing the required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities
  • Support invoice & cost reduction activities
  • Revise workscope as necessary
  • Evaluate reported discrepancies to existing tech data, and if tech data is not available seek new tech data
