About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology. In this role as a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Bulk Gas Engineering Section Lead (SL), you will lead an engineering team responsible for the comprehensive ownership, maintenance, support, and improvement of bulk gas equipment and supply at Samsung. Your responsibilities will include ensuring effective collaboration between the engineering team, operations, maintenance teams, and customer groups to deliver world-class equipment performance for gas supply supporting fab production. You will also be involved in the planning, construction, startup, and commissioning of new equipment, as well as developing and executing projects to enhance safety, quality, and reliability.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of direct operations experience related to gas supply systems, or equipment that utilizes gases and for processing
  • Emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials
  • Applicants must be authorized to access U.S. export control information or eligible for government authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with bulk gas supply (ex. ASU, cryogenic, etc.)
  • Semiconductor or electronics facility support experience
  • Prior leadership and management of teams

Responsibilities

  • Leading and directing a small team of engineers
  • Serving as the primary authority and representative for bulk gas issues and matters on-site, including support for substantial commercial and technical negotiations with vendors and contractors
  • Leading and participating in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world-class safety performance
  • Providing technical expertise and ownership for gas systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems
  • Ensuring collaboration with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment/supply vendors to sustain and maintain equipment
  • Working with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or equipment improvements
  • Communicating and coordinating with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability
