About The Position

The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) team is focused on comprehensively commissioning, owning, maintaining, supporting, and improving gas operations at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. As a part of the GCS Slurry team, you will provide support by interacting with the on-site contract operations team for HPM (Hazardous Process Material) activities as required.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in gas or chemical equipment ownership; semiconductor experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills and the competency to represent the group in work coordination and execution are essential.
  • Applicants must be authorized to access such information or eligible for government authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary technical leadership to internal engineering, contracted maintenance, and associated vendor teams.
  • Coordinate equipment technical review boards between equipment vendors and GCS teams to standardize equipment, improve reliability, and work methods.
  • Improve GCS group engineering development and mentorship program, including understanding of how the material GCS provides is utilized by Fab Engineering.
  • Must have effective communication and coordination with both Fab Engineering and other Infrastructure groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
  • Interface with various FAB engineering teams providing technical analysis, support, supply issue resolution, and quality improvements.
  • Provide expertise for gas systems, gas analyzer systems, safety, quality, and reliability standards, as well as improvements for those systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and safety, while also reducing cost.
  • Commission and startup new equipment installations.
  • Support and lead MOC for PSM and RMP covered processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, productivity, and safety, while also reducing cost.
  • Evaluate future scenario planning including infrastructure budget and schedule forecasting, utilization and capacity data analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement standardization methods across equipment fleet (work processes, alarm management, 6s principles).
  • Optimize PM (preventative maintenance) strategies for aging assets to minimize risk of unexpected failures.
  • Improve process control and monitoring methods to ensure a robust proactive approach to sustaining large equipment sets.
