About The Position

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages
Experience developing GUI applications and user interface components
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to work quickly and deliver results in fast-paced environments
Can-do attitude with willingness to tackle challenging technical problems
Must be located in or willing to relocate to Chicago, IL

Nice To Haves

Experience with Qt framework for cross-platform application development
Knowledge of GStreamer multimedia framework
Familiarity with MAVLink protocol and drone/UAV systems
Experience with real-time systems and embedded software development
Background in aerospace, robotics, or unmanned systems
Previous experience with rapid prototyping and agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

Modify QGroundControl (QGC) to implement new features and custom implementations
Design and develop various ground control station (GCS)
Create rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new features and functionality
Work with emerging hardware (Radios, IP rated ground control systems, etc...)
Implement GUI elements and user interfaces for control systems using modern frameworks
Optimize system performance and troubleshoot technical issues in real-time applications
Participate in code reviews and maintain high-quality software development standards
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support testing and validation of control systems in various operational scenarios
