A Day in the Life As an Analyst I in Mt Pleasant, MI, you will support multiple laboratory projects while working alongside experienced analysts and chemists. You’ll spend most of your time performing hands‑on analytical work, learning instrument operation, analyzing mass spec chromatograms, and contributing to routine laboratory operations under established procedures. This entry‑level Analyst I role is designed for early-career or recent graduates in Chemistry or a related science who gained hands‑on laboratory experience through undergraduate coursework, labs, or academic research. If you enjoy working with analytical instruments, following structured procedures, and translating data into meaningful results, this role will give you a strong foundation for a career in analytical laboratory work. The hourly compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: Assisting with the operation and routine maintenance within the laboratory Process and interpret mass spec data using GC/MS data acquisition and processing software Prepare calibration standards Use basic laboratory equipment such as micro-syringes, balances, and pipettes Enter and access data within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Evaluate instrument performance and report irregularities Assist with drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Follow all Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and laboratory policies Support additional laboratory tasks as needed

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Chemistry or a closely related science
  • Hands‑on laboratory experience gained through real world or undergraduate coursework experiences
  • Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory best practices
  • Ability to follow written procedures accurately and consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective communication, organization, and time‑management skills
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technical skills in a production lab environment

Responsibilities
