The Gathering Program Facilitator- PT
About The Position
Lyngblomsten is seeking a Gathering Program Facilitator to lead The Gathering, a dementia group respite program. This new role involves creating a supportive and engaging environment for individuals with dementia, offering meaningful activities, and providing four hours of respite for their family caregivers. This is a part-time position, working 21 hours per week across three weekdays. The pay range for this hourly position is $20 to $26, with the actual rate depending on factors like FTE, skills, knowledge, education, experience, and market conditions. Lyngblomsten values pay equity and internal equity when making offers, and hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
Requirements
- Experience leading activities for individuals living with dementia (5+ years preferred).
- Experience supervising volunteers (3+ years preferred).
- Passion for working with people living with dementia and commitment to person-centered, strengths-based care.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable leading groups and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and assessment skills (physical, mental, and social).
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable transportation; ability to work at both Como and Lino Lakes campuses.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Music Therapy, Gerontology, Nursing, or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate The Gathering group respite program by leading engaging activities such as arts/crafts, active games, music, brain games, exercise, and table games, using planned curriculum developed by program coordinator.
- Create a warm, inclusive environment and support new participants as they transition into the program.
- Supervise and support program volunteers.
- Actively participate as a team member and contribute to the growth of The Gathering and Lyngblomsten Community Services.
