About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER Sector Integration division is currently seeking a Gateway and Controllers Platform Product Manager. This role serves as the enterprise platform manager for Eaton’s gateway, controller, and embedded edge platforms, aligning shared capabilities across multiple business units and product lines. You will own the gateway and controller hardware platform strategy and roadmap, including portfolio rationalization, platform standardization, supplier and investment choices, and lifecycle priorities. You will coordinate with hardware adopters across Eaton business units to translate the platform roadmap into their commercial execution. Travel up to 25%. You will also own voice-of-customer and strategic roadmap activities for Eaton’s EdgeX and RTOS platforms, balancing internal adopter needs, external customer value, technology trends, engineering constraints, and enterprise benefit. Working across product management, engineering, operations, supply chain, sales, marketing, and technology teams, you will establish governance, priorities, metrics, and decision forums that enable consistent platform execution. Success will be measured by increased adoption of common platforms, reduced hardware and software variation, disciplined roadmap delivery, and stronger commercial outcomes across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product management, marketing, support or platform management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting embedded software products, platforms, or engineering development processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using data, analytics, AI/ML, or business intelligence to inform product strategy and business decisions.
  • No relocation is offered for this role. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH; Menomonee Falls, WI; Moon Township, PA; or Raleigh, NC area will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the enterprise roadmap for gateway and controller hardware platforms, including portfolio consolidation, standardization, lifecycle planning, supplier strategy, and investment priorities.
  • Partner with hardware-adopting Eaton business units to define adoption plans and assist in their execution of commercial activities, including value propositions, pricing inputs, market positioning, launch readiness, sales enablement, and go-to-market coordination.
  • Own voice-of-customer activities for Eaton’s EdgeX and RTOS platforms, gathering and synthesizing input from internal adopters, external customers, engineering teams, and market research.
  • Define and maintain the EdgeX and RTOS platform roadmaps, translating customer needs, business priorities, technology trends, and engineering constraints into prioritized platform capabilities and release objectives.
  • Establish platform governance, decision rights, success metrics, and investment recommendations that optimize enterprise value rather than the needs of a single product line.
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineering, centers of excellence, supply chain, operations, sales, marketing, and finance to translate platform strategy into executable plans and coordinated delivery.
  • Evaluate market, competitive, technology, quality, cost, and commercial performance data to guide roadmap decisions and identify opportunities for differentiation, reuse, and cost avoidance.
  • Communicate platform strategy, roadmap choices, adoption expectations, dependencies, and performance to business-unit leaders, senior management, technical teams, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Edgex and RTOS Product Owners to ensure roadmap objectives are effectively translated into execution plans, prioritied backlog, and clear release objectives/acceptance criteria.
  • Champion reusable hardware and embedded software building blocks that improve interoperability, accelerate development, and reduce unnecessary variation across Eaton offerings.
  • Manage platform risks, tradeoffs, and lifecycle decisions while ensuring clear ownership, timely escalation, and alignment across adopting businesses.
